Department of Anthropology
Postgraduate Diploma of Applied Anthropology
Overview:
The Postgraduate Diploma is a shorter version of the MAA. The primary difference between the two qualifications is that the PG Dip does not have a long research project. Instead, students complete a short research project over one semester which culminates in an extended essay on a subject of special interest to the student.
The PG Dip is suitable for students who would like to gain some expertise in Applied Anthropology without the longer commitment involved in doing the Masters, or who would like to undertake primarily coursework-based study./p>

Note: The difference between the PG Dip and the Graduate Diploma of Anthropology:
The Postgraduate Diploma of Applied Anthropology should be distinguished from the Graduate Diploma of Anthropology. The Postgraduate Diploma is designed for students who already have a background in anthropology or other social sciences and is made up entirely of postgraduate units. By contrast, the Graduate Diploma is an undergraduate qualification, made up entirely of undergraduate units, and is designed for students who already have a degree but who do not have a background in anthropology.
More information on the Graduate Diploma can be found here.
