Non-Award Study
All ANTH800-level coursework units may be undertaken as non-award study. This means that students may complete one or more units without being enrolled in a degree program.
Reasons why you might consider doing a non-award unit include:
- When you have missed cut-off date for applications for the Masters, Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate but would like to begin study before the next half-yearly intake.
- When a single unit is of interest to you but you do not want to complete a whole degree.
- To test whether you enjoy Applied Anthropology before embarking on a full degree.
- When you are completing a degree at another institution and would like to include a Macquarie unit in your studies. (Note that whether or not this unit would count as credit towards your degree depends on the institution offering it).
- If you do not meet the prerequisites for entry into the MAA or other qualifications but would still like to study one or more units.
ANTH800-level units completed as non-award can be counted as credit towards the MAA or other qualifications if you subsequently enrol in these degrees.
Non-award study at Macquarie is administered by the Centre for Open Education. More information on non-award study can be found here.
